Personal Bio

I’m a proud father to 10 year old football mad, Leon. If you can’t find me at work or fishing you’ll find me in the gym with my girlfriend Michelle.

I started fishing when I was about 6, mainly with my Dad and Grandad on family holidays. I soon got hooked and regularly fished my local canal with ‘hand me’ down tackle. I then moved onto local commercial fisheries, match style with friends during Summer holidays. When I left high school I found a passion for rugby union and regrettably gave up my fishing to concentrate on rugby. A decade later and half my bones broken, dislocated and metal platted I retired early and got back into my fishing but for specimen carp. I’ve only been fishing for big carp for three years so I would class myself as a beginner to be honest but I do know what I’m doing…. most of the time!

I’m also a keen wildlife photographer and birdwatcher. …. apart from coots and tufties obviously!

Fish for any other species? People may frown but I do like a big tench from time to time and I have a couple of sessions during the winter for pike and perch
Favourite Venue Blakemere in Shropshire
Favourite Rig the KD rig, it’s so simple and affective
Favourite Hook bait wafter bollie
Treasured Angling Item sunglasses, I love stalking in Summer and I’d rather forget my rod than my glasses
Your biggest angling inspiration I’d have to say my Dad and Grandad for getting me started
Your life time angling goal to catch a 30lb common and mirror….. and a 10lb tench!
Most memorable angling moment? boat fishing for Chinook Salmon in Canada
One piece of angling advice you could give someone? Don’t go to a venue with tunnel vision already knowing what peg you want to be on, find the fish and what your fishing over.
